In a modern convection fan oven, does it matter where in the oven food is placed?
My partner insists that it's best to place food on the top shelf of the oven for the best cooking results, particularly if you want something to get a nice crust or crispy topping.
I've always asumed that in modern electric convection ovens with fans, heat was dispersed evenly and therefore it wasn't much of an issue where abouts in the oven you put your cooking food. Isn't that the main feature of convection ovens?
We argue about this almost every time we use the oven, so would really appreciate anybody who can confirm either way. (Of course, I won't be letting him know he's right, even if he is!)
food should be centered in a convection oven for best results, i think your partner is confusing it with a regular oven
