Rating : - WOW !! What a CD - a definate purchase if you're looking!
The Countertop Quartet.

They are based in Washington DC, and have been around for 2 years, since 2005. They are a very unique group. Made up of two countertenors (male altos) a female alto (mezzo) and a soprano. It is unusal because most groups are made up of a SATB.
The sound, of which I am happy to say I have heard live, is quite spectacular. The two countertenors, despite having different voice timbres, blend in a way which takes you to a different place when listening to them. The full quartet together, a sound which you'll take away with you, is one that I've certainly never heard before this CD - unique, but wonderful, different, but leaves you with a sense of tranquility. Very nice!
I highly recommend this CD to anyone looking to buy it. I also highly recommend that you go to one of their concerts in the DC Washington area - you won't be disappointed.
