GE Oven: What does the "Cooking Time" button do?
Does setting this mean that after the inputted time, the oven will shut off by itself? It seems to me that's what the 'cooking time" button does, as opposed to the "Kitchen Timer' which is just a timer but has no effect on the oven. I'm worried cause i have to leave the house for 2 1/2 hours while my cake bakes; i set the cooking time for 40 minutes, 20 min are left and i'm about to leave and i don't want to burn the house down! 
So does the cooking time feature turn off the oven after the desired time is up? Thanks!
THats what its supposed to do. Your cake is going to get pretty dried out sitting in that oven while it cools.
