How do I steam asparagus in the microwave?
I have a microwave steamer (3 parts - tray, bottom with holes, and top with a controlled vented opening) and no instructions. It's sized perfect for asparagus spears. Any tips on how I can steam it? I've been steaming fish (adding 1/3" of an inch of hot water to the tray) it for 3 min on high and 3 min on medium. What about veggies? Any suggestions? Thanks!
Season them well with S&P and add some of your favorite veg spices.
Put a bit of water or broth in the bottom, drizzle a bit of olive oil on the asparagus and steam away in the microwave for about 5 minutes.
But do test it after 3 minutes because each microwave is different on high heat levels.
